Your Story Is for Someone

I didn't get to write you last week as I was in Boston. I had been invited to speak at a Speakpreneur event. I shared my story in front of a full hotel conference room, and walked away with two warm leads for app builds and some awesome in-person time with people I respect.

Interesting enough, none of that came from a traditional pitch. It came from just telling people what I have been through and what I do.

Two people heard my story and thought, I need what that guy is building. Not because I told them to think that, but because my story did the work.

I want you to think about that.

You have a story too, and I know a lot of people sit on theirs because they figure most people will not care about it. And honestly, most people probably wont.

Because I add readers of this newsletter from event lists they’ll be one or two that will unsubscribe. Because my story is not for everyone, but it is for someone.

The point is that somewhere in whatever room you are standing in, or whatever corner of the internet you are posting to, there is a person who is dealing with the exact problem you already solved, or standing at the exact crossroads you already crossed. And when they hear your story they are going to trust you in a way that no sales pitch could produce.

So whatever your stage looks like, find it and get on it.

It does not have to be a speaking event. It can be a conversation, a post, a newsletter, a phone call.

What matters is that you stop waiting until the story feels complete enough to share, because it never will, and the people who need to here it are waiting for ya.

THIS WEEK IN FATHERHOOD

Back to The Classics

I have been using Claude to build a supplemental curriculum for my kids. Something that I can casually bolster their spongey little brains with lol.

Mythology from around the world
Philosophy
Chess
Music theory
Geometry
Design thinking
Martial arts
Alchemy & other esoteric mystery school frameworks
Critical thinking, and more.

All the things I wish someone had handed me when I was a kid.

The challenge with building something like this for two kids is that Peter is 8 and Ana is 4, which is a bigger gap than it sounds like. So the curriculum runs on two parallel tracks. Like one colors while one writes and one gets a bedtime story and one builds a project. Theyre learning together without Ana getting lost or Petey getting bored.

No school is going to give my kids this and I think these skills will matter to them for a long time.

I’ll keep you posted.

WHAT I BUILT THIS WEEK

Millenial Midlife is Here

I’m helping a good friend of mine build his business from scratch after spending a very long time as an architect/designer.

I’ve been hearing more and more of this and 4 people have asked me for some form of help figuring out their next chapter.

If this feels like you too, let me know. What fills me most is seeing others live out their “personal legend”.

I want to help as much as possible.

You can follow Victor’s story here and see what we come up with.

Here’s a Good Question…

What is one thing you have figured out the hard way that someone else in your life is still struggling with right now?

Happy Journaling!
